God promised to never flood the earth again, in Genesis 9:11-13 it says:

I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:  I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

The rainbow is an amazing reminder of God's faithfulness and promise to never flood the earth again. God also promised to give us his Presence in sending his Holy Spirit!

In John 16:7 Jesus said, "But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
